First Snow On the Farm

November 1st marks the first snow of this year for us. It's beautiful really, and luckily it isn't sticking to the roads! You're always the first to get snow when you're on top of the mountain, but as long as you're prepared you can just sit back and enjoy the sights and warmth of home. Hope everyone on top of the mountain is staying safe and warm!

Hoping the power lines don't freeze or fall.

The creek almost isn't visible with the snowy canopy!

Well, some parts are frozen. :P

Fall In The High Country

There's almost no site more beautiful then fall in the mountains. You can find a wide array of colors almost anywhere, but it's the layers and profoundness of them in High Country that makes it so glorious.

The ladybug population is unreal this year, and I can only hope that their abundance will only bring forth other beneficial animals and insects. The garden is getting ready to be tilled for next spring, and with next spring will come many changes; we will finally start progressing the farm!

On another note, judging by the behavior of the weather thus far, our best guess is that this winter will be a harsh one. I hope everyone is prepared for the cold and power outages (especially up on the mountain), as no one needs to go cold or hungry this winter! Make sure you're prepared.

Happy holidays, folks; and stay warm!
